1. Welcome Letter

Welcome to IMCAS ASIA 2010 that will be held in Hong Kong from Saturday July 10, 2010 to Monday July 12, 2010.

This IMCAS ASIA 2010 will be the 4th edition, after BANGKOK in 2007 and 2009, and SINGAPORE in 2008.

What are the innovations of this coming IMCAS ASIA? In addition to our complete annual overview of all the recent developments in our surgical & medical professions - plastic surgery, cosmetic dermatology, and concerned specialities - we will provide you with:

1. An incisive IMCAS INDUSTRY INNOVATION TRIBUNE session (2 hours scheduled on Saturday July 10 - 2010): where is our market going in terms of marketing, financial & investment opportunities in the world and particularly in ASIA in 2010?

IMCAS is dedicated in achieving the highest quality of teaching through the interface of Plastic Surgery and Dermatology. Achieving this vision requires a dynamic organization whose mission embodies the following standards:

Unequalled Tradition of Professional Support

IMCAS started in 1995, in Paris, France, as a congress dedicated to plastic surgeons and dermatologists. Since its conception, IMCAS has sought to bridge the knowledge vacuum between Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Dermatology, thereby generating a synergetic and mutually reinforcing interface between these two fields.


IMCAS Today

What began more than a decade ago has now grown in terms of participation and renown. As such, IMCAS has become one of the most important international courses dedicated to Aging Skin Treatments. Our Annual Congress is regularly held in Paris during the second week of January and welcomes more than 3 200 delegates coming from 40 different countries.


3. Why Hong Kong?

Hong Kong offers dynamic business environment, sophisticated infrastructure, professional expertise and easy accessibility. More than 60 airlines operate some 2,400 flights a week to over 120 worldwide destinations. Getting around Hong Kong is just as easy, whether by comfortable air-conditioned taxi or on the highly efficient subway and train system. Such unrivalled attributes make Hong Kong a real “World City” which creates endless possibilities towards complete success.

4. Official Language

All lectures will be given in English.
Simultaneous translation is constantly provided in ALL the 4 conference rooms (ENGLISH/CHINESE and ENGLISH/JAPANESE)


5. Nominal Badge

IMCAS strictly complies with the criteria required for CME accreditation. That is why the access to the conferences is subject to a number of strict rules, aiming at guaranteeing the scientific independence of the conferences, and preserving it from any commercial interest or influence. A precise Badge Policy has been implemented, specifying the rules related to the admittance to the different areas of IMCAS conferences. IMCAS Badge Policy is mandatory for all the participants. Its violation will authorize IMCAS Staff to take measures in order to restore the order, and may lead to the withdrawal of the badge and the prohibition of access to the conference area. According to each participant’s status (delegate, faculty, exhibitor, etc ...), a corresponding badge colour is issued based on a specific "COLOUR CODE".

Fees for full Delegate registration include:

  • all scientific meeting sessions except the 12 Teaching Courses.
  • access to exhibit area including lunches and coffee breaks;
  • CD with abstracts and course handouts, as well as the Program Book.

Nota: The Teaching Courses are subject to additional registration fees.


6. Lunches & Coffee Breaks

Complimentary food and beverage is provided to Delegate and Faculty type badges.

Coffee breaks: 10 am to 10.30 am & 4.30 pm to 5 pm on Sunday July 11 and Monday July 12

Lunch breaks: 1 to 2 pm on Saturday on July 10
                      12.30 to 1.30 pm on Sunday July 11 and Monday July 12

Coffee breaks and lunches are served on site to allow our delegates to fully visit the Exhibition Hall.


7. Exhibition Hall

Admission to the Exhibit Hall is by badge only. An adult must accompany children under the age of 16. IMCAS ASIA 2010 exhibit will showcase approximately 80 companies who will be displaying their products and services. Companies specializing in computer, cosmetics/skin care, fiber optics, fillers and injectables, furniture, implants and prosthesis, lasers, lights/lighting, monitoring equipment, office/practice management, pharmaceuticals, photography, publishers, skin closures/sutures, surgical instruments and equipment, wellness, and wound care, as well as numerous other products and services relative to the artistry and science of plastic surgery and cosmetic dematology will be featured.


8. Abstract Booklet CD ROM

Each delegate will be receiving a free IMCAS ASIA 2010 abstracts CD-Rom that contains all the abstracts which have been accepted by the Scientific Committee. Companies and participants may copy materials for their personal use but further copy for sale or for any other commercial purpose is prohibited without prior permission of IMCAS.


9. Optional Teaching Courses

The purpose of Optional Teaching Courses is to provide the opportunity for in-depth exposure to specific techniques and topics, as well as more personalized contact with recognized leaders in aesthetic surgery and cosmetic dermatology. The educational objectives are stated from the perspective of what the attendees can expect to implement into their practice or what they can expect to attain from participating in the course. With targeted learning tracks to choose from, you’ll find courses covering every area of plastic surgery or cosmetic dermatology available on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

10. Scientific Posters, E-Papers, and Cyberstation (IMCAS Internet Kiosks)

The POSTER session is held on Monday July 12 at lunch time, meeting point being the Welcome Desk.

Visit the IMCAS Internet Kiosk to check email and view the scientific lectures in electronic format (E-Papers). E-Papers provide an opportunity for in-depth information exchange. You will be able to exchange ideas about clinical cases presented by sending personalized emails to the authors.


11. Practical information

Electricity:

The standard electrical voltage in HK is 220 volts AC, 50HZ, so 100-volt appliances and electrical equipment require an adaptor. Also, note that most electric sockets in Hong Kong take a three-pronged plug.


Currency & Exchange:

The unit of currency is the Hong Kong dollar (HK$). It is pegged to the US$ at approximately HK$7.8 to US$1. Most foreign currencies and traveller’s cheques can be changed at banks, money-changers, hotels and major retail outlets. Banks usually offer the best exchange rate.


12. To and from the airport

Chek Lap Kok (Hong Kong International Airport) is situated on Lantau Island. Most hotels offer shuttle bus service to/from the airport or to the closest Airport Express station. The Airport Express trains run every 12 minutes, daily from about 6 AM to 1 AM. It takes about 25 minutes to/from downtown Hong Kong to/from the airport. Public bus and taxies are also available.


13. Visa and entry requirements

Nationals of about 170 countries and territories may visit Hong Kong visa-free for a period ranging from 7 days to 180 days. For more information on whether you need a visa or entry permit to enter Hong Kong please visit: http://www.immd.gov.hk/ehtml/hkvisas_4.htm


14. Climate

Hong Kong has a subtropical climate. It is cool and dry in the winter (around December to March), and somewhat hot, humid and rainy from spring through summer. The average temperature in July is around 28°C.


15. VENUE: about THE HONG KONG CONVENTION CENTER

The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is at the business hub of Hong Kong - bustling Wanchai district.

Overlooking famed Victoria Harbour, the Centre is conveniently linked by covered walkways to adjacent luxury hotels, Also nearby are the MTR - Hong Kong's modern subway system - the airport bus, city buses and ferries, banking, the main post office, and all the shopping and entertainment that Hong Kong is famous for.
