2. Visa & Entry Requirements

Information is quoted from the Singaporean Ministry of Foreign Affairs website: www.mfa.gov.sg/home/idx_visaFor.html

All visitors to Singapore must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Valid travel documents (minimum validity of 6 months).
  • Onward/return tickets.
  • Entry facilities to next destination
  • Sufficient funds to stay in Singapore
  • Visa for Singapore (if applicable).

Foreigners holding travel documents issued by the following countries will require a visa to enter Singapore:

  • Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh*
  • Commonwealth of Independent States** (except diplomatic/official/service passport holders for a stay of up to 30 days): Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan
  • Egypt, India*, Iran, Iraq, Jordan*, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Myanmar*, People’s Republic of China*, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia*, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia*, Yemen.
* Except diplomatic/official passport holders.
** Nationals of the Commonwealth of Independent States may be granted entry into Singapore without visas if they are on transit to a third country. However they are required to fulfil the following conditions:
  • They are in transit to a third country.
  • They hold a valid passport, a confirmed onward air ticket, entry facilities (including visa) to the third country and have sufficient funds for the period of stay in Singapore.
  • They continue their journey to the third country within the 96-hours visa free period granted.
  • They satisfy Singapore’s entry requirements. As in all arrivals, the grant of the social visit passes to travelers will be determined by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority officers at the Singapore Checkpoints.

3. Practical information

Money & Banking:
  • Local currency: Singapore Dollar (SGD) and Singapore Cents.
  • Current exchange rate (as of February 2008): 1 euro = 2.09 SGD, or 1 US Dollar = 1.52 SGD.
  • Banking hours: Monday to Fridays: 10:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs. Saturdays from 09:30 hrs to 13:00 hrs.
Electricity:
Local voltage : 220-240 volts AC, 50 cycles per second.
Power plugs used in Singapore are the three-pin, square shaped type.

4. About Suntec Convention Center

With 100,000 square metres of available floor space, Suntec Singapore is an ideal venue for meetings, conventions & exhibitions.

Situated next to the Central Business District, Suntec Singapore is at the heart of a self-contained, totally integrated events infrastructure, and only 20 minutes from Changi International Airport, where most major Asian capital cities are within a six-hour radius flying time.

Getting There

  • By Public Transport : Suntec Singapore is conveniently accessible by MRT and buses.
  • MRT: The nearest MRT Station is City Hall. You can then take a 10 minutes’ walk via the underground City Link Mall. Alternatively, you can hop on board our Suntec City Courtesy Shuttle Bus– pick-up point is outside the City Hall Station entrance at St Andrew’s Cathedral, opposite Capitol Building.
  • Buses: Bus services to Suntec Singapore: 36, 97, 106, 111, 133, 501, 502, 518, 857, 700.
  • Access Routes to Suntec City By Road / By Car : Suntec Singapore is accessible via 2 major expressways
    • East Coast Expressway (ECP)
    • Central Expressway (CTE)
There are prominent signages directing the way to Suntec Singapore, which is located south of the Office Towers. There are a total of 3,200 parking lots available in the basement of Suntec City, and many more are available in the vicinity.

6. “Force Majeure”

The Organizers reserve the right to modify dates, time schedules, floor plans and programs caused by “Force Majeure”. In the case of event cancellation due to Force Majeure, the Organizers will notify the Exhibitor in writing.

The Organizer shall not be liable to refund the Exhibitor if the Event of “Force Majeure” relied upon by the Exhibitor is caused or otherwise arises out of any action or inaction of the Exhibitor.


7. IMCAS Non-Competition Policy

1. A firm or a laboratory exhibiting at IMCAS, except prior approval from IMCAS Secretariat, cannot organize any seminars or workshops during the:

  • Preceding 24 hours
  • During the entire duration of the congress
  • Following 24 hours

2. It is not permitted to use any rental space to organize activities such as symposia, workshops, demonstrations or lectures without prior approval from IMCAS Secretariat.

It is strongly forbidden to involve IMCAS participants in any of the above-mentioned activities.


8. Liability

The Organizer shall not be liable to the Exhibitor or to any other person for:

  • Loss of life
  • Injury to person
  • Loss or damage to property or goods


9. Insurance

Exhibitors are advised to be fully ensured by their own insurance policy including, but not limited to, risks to their property and goods, public liability, and loss or damage caused by circumstantial reasons such as fire, water, theft, and accidents.

Exhibitors shall insure against, indemnify and hold the Organizer harmless with respect to all costs, claims, demands and expenses to which the Organizer may in any way be subjected as a result of any loss to the public or any persons present at the event, caused as a result of any act of the default of the Exhibitors and their affiliates, agents and contractors.


10. Compliance with Singaporean Legislation

Exhibitors must ensure that their products displayed, exposed or utilized during the event are legally approved under Singaporean law. Moreover, any medical act performed during the event shall be executed by medical doctors qualified to do so under Singaporean law.


11. IMCAS Badge Policy

Exhibitor badges will be issued with the name of the exhibitor firm only. They will be given to you at the registration desk.
NUMBER OF BADGES PER EXHIBITOR:

I.From 6 to 9 sqm2 :or under 7 500 US$3 badges
II.Bronze sponsorfrom 7 500 US$5 badges
III.Silver sponsorfrom 30 000 US$9 badges
IV.Gold sponsorfrom 45 000 US$12 badges
V.Platinum sponsorfrom 75 000 US$20 badges

  • b. The exhibitor badges will be issued for the exhibiting company members only.
  • c. Exhibitor badges do not give access to the scientific sessions.
  • d. Exhibition badges do not give access to buffet luncheons.
  • e. Please emphasize the importance of wearing the badges. No one will be allowed admission to the Exhibition Area without a badge.
No exhibitor badges will be given unless full payment has been made on due time.


Access to the conference rooms

IMCAS strictly respects the criteria required for CME accreditation. That is why the access to the conferences is submitted to a number of exact rules, aiming at guaranteeing the scientific independence of the conferences, and at preserving it from any commercial interest influence.

A precise Badge Policy has been implemented, which specifies the rules relating to the admittance to the different areas of IMCAS conferences.

IMCAS Badge Policy is mandatory for all the participants. Its violation will authorize IMCAS Staff to take measures in order to restore the order, and may lead to the withdrawal of the badge and the prohibition of access to the conference area.


According to each participant’s status (delegate, faculty, exhibitor, etc), a corresponding badge colour is issued based on a precise “COLOUR CODE”.

Exhibitor badges are RED and give access to :

  • exhibition areas
  • all sponsored sessions : symposia and live demos sessions
